Why do we need to Reclaim, Remember + Rejoice?
My mission is to help you Reclaim, Remember and Rejoice in you. These are not just some fancy, rhyming words that I made up – the work I have embodied over the last few years has been this work and earlier this year, my guides gifted me with this phrase, helping me to define my work to share with you.
One of the things that some of you may know about me is that I am an empath, an highly intuitive energy sensitive. I am also an initiated Water Ceremony Priestess, Water is an element I work closely with and with water the element of emotion, I embody this. So, I feel very deeply. It was always portrayed as a weakness, now I know the power this has.
I feel things not only for myself and that of others others but also on a collective level. I have created good boundaries with this, however, this summer, I needed to feel the collective wounds on a deeper level to help me to remember what I am here to help women to reclaim from. Which I reluctantly did… I have done plentiful research over the years into the Sister Wound, Patriarchal and Systemic abuse, ways women have been suppressed and oppressed over the years, did I really have to go back into that victim frame of mind again??
Yes I did and it was very necessary to.
· I spent time listening to the story of the Witch, which is not a word I associated myself with, but I think it’s important to state that witches were actually just women. The witch trials were not about terrible witches with broomsticks, they were about mothers, daughters, sisters… it was just your average woman (and sometimes man) next door.
· I explored the threads of stories that have been hidden through time and the repercussions of this still alive today.
· I have embodied and felt the rage of Lilith at being rejected from the Garden of Eden.
· I have heard the rising truth of Mary Magdelene (*were we allll told she was ‘just’ a prostitute??)
· I have experienced the underworld that Innana entered and returned with the bold healing gifts to share for change.
· I explored the impact that the witch trials still holds today (many medical practices done today originate from the over taking of male physicians in medicine). I felt tired and annoyed that I had to be reminded again of what women have and do endure. I hated having to be in this victim mode.
Yet, it’s a very necessary part of the healing process.
I needed to be reminded, because the healing of all of this, is my work.
Last week, I was reminded of something that is happening in the world right now. To me, if one woman in the world isn’t free, then none of us are. I’m unable to turn a blind eye and go about my day, I feel it very deeply. And I suspect many of you may too?
And so on hearing this horrific account, I felt the grief and burning rage build up inside me.
I was tired of feeling angry at this unfairness (hello victimhood) and wanted answers.
In my rageful embodiment I journeyed and was shown how to bring an end to this.
Enough is enough.
I saw what I’ve been shown gradually over the last few years… maybe all my life?
The answer to the unfairness, the injustice, the linear, Patriarchal oppression that I was reminded over the summer, now feels like it lies within reach.
I have been shown clearly how we can reclaim our stories, our truth and our power, for ourselves but also for our families and our wider circles.
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it's not.”
― Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
I am sharing this week what the answer was to my journey and how we can work together to bring this change.
I will be looking for a small group of women who care about the unfairness and the injustice and want change for themselves and each other.
These women:
· Are ready to bring this change, for themselves and their community.
· Have had enough of the ‘her-story’ that has been buried and hidden from us.
· Are are ready to create new stories for themselves, our daughters and our ancestors.
· Are ready to step into their fullness and into their Power.
· Want to step forward to help in the Dismantling of the Patriarchy!
